Episode THE FABIAN SOCIETY EXPOSED: ‘They’ve Already Got You’ – Topher Field Exposes Its Influence
The Fabian Society has influenced political thinking for more than 140 years – but how much influence does it really have over Australia?
Karl speaks with Topher Field about the origins of Fabianism, its strategy of gradual political change and the controversial idea of ‘permeation’, influencing institutions and government from within rather than seeking power directly.
Topher argues the Fabian approach has become deeply embedded in modern politics, warning that ‘if you accept that framework as the way that government should function, the Fabians have already won.’ He also reveals why he believes Fabian influence extends beyond Labor and into the Liberal Party.
They discuss the growth of bureaucracy, regulation and expert-led government – and why Topher believes ‘they’ve already got you without you even having to know their name.’
