Fibber McGee and Molly presents “Radio Quiz Show,” episode 232 of the classic NBC comedy series, originally broadcast on January 23, 1940. Jim and Marian Jordan star as Fibber and Molly McGee, with Harold Peary as Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve. A visit to the Wistful Vista radio station gives Fibber and Molly a behind-the-scenes studio tour, but the day soon turns into a comic on-air quiz program parodying the radio craze of the era. Sponsored by Johnson’s Wax, this 1940 broadcast offers a playful glimpse at radio making fun of itself.
