Episode 'Eternity,' 'Rebuilding,' And What's Giving Us Good Vibes
Hosts Tre'vell Anderson and Ray Love Jr. are checking into the afterlife for a spirited deep dive into ETERNITY, the new high-concept rom-com from A24 and director David Freyne.
With the incomparable Da'Vine Joy Randolph stealing scenes as a no-nonsense afterlife coordinator, the film follows Elizabeth Olsen and Miles Teller as they navigate a bureaucratic heaven where you have one week to decide who to spend forever with. Ray and Tre'vell unpack the film's "The Good Place"-meets-dating-app premise, dissecting whether the chemistry sizzles for an eternity or feels like a hellish trap. Does Da'Vine's comedic genius anchor the whimsy, and does the movie offer a fresh take on love, or is it just another purgatory of indie tropes?
Also on the docket: The hosts saddle up for REBUILDING, the quiet, tender drama from Max Walker-Silverman. They discuss Josh O'Connor's turn as a displaced cowboy finding community in a FEMA camp and whether the film's slow-burn resilience resonates or drifts too far into the sunset.
Tune in for the final verdict: is this afterlife romp a "Seated," "Stream It," or a "Skip It?" Plus, the hosts spill what's bringing them joy this week and face off in a new round of Black Cinema Games!
