Hosts Tre'vell Anderson and Ray Love Jr. are RSVPing "yes" to the messiest dinner party of the year for their review of Olivia Wilde's spicy, critically acclaimed A24 comedy, THE INVITE.
Ray and Tre'vell get into the nitty-gritty of the film's execution, unpacking how this chaotic, horny chamber comedy plays through the Black gaze and whether the boundary-pushing laughs actually give what they're supposed to give or if the drama just does too much. Tune in for their hella honest verdict: is this squirm-inducing soirée a "Seated," "Stream It," or a "Skip It?"
The duo also unlocks the doors to The Listener Lounge, reading out emails from our favorite Instigators who hit the inbox to share their absolute favorite movies of the year so far.
Plus, the hosts play a special "Canon Cousin" edition of the Black Cinema Games, highlighting iconic Black films that share the same messy, dinner-party-from-hell DNA as The Invite. Finally, they close the show with Good Vibes Only, sharing what's bringing them joy this week.
