Episode S2 Ep6: David Broome: Britain’s Showjumping Icon
Pippa and Tristan sit down with one of the true icons of British showjumping, David Broome CBE. A six-time Olympian, three-time Olympic medalist, and World Champion, David’s remarkable career spanned decades and helped shape the golden age of British equestrian sport.
He opens up about his unforgettable partnership with Mr Softee, the horse that made him a household name, and the grit, glamour, and occasional chaos of competing around the world when British showjumping was at its peak. From early memories of growing up in Wales and building a career alongside his father, to his reflections on how the sport has evolved and what still drives his passion today, it’s a rare and personal insight from one of the greats.
