In 2019, if you opened Adobe Lightroom anywhere in the world, the image you saw belonged to Michael Aboya. In this episode of The Peswa Podcast, Michael takes us on an intimate journey — a journey shaped by pain, loss, resilience, and purpose. From losing his father to cancer at a young age, to channeling grief into creativity, Michael reveals how photography became his voice, his healing, and his calling. We dive into the story behind Songs of Freedom, his 2016 Agora Prize win, and the path that eventually led him to becoming one of Adobe’s Ambassadors — a dream many creatives aspire to, but few achieve. This is more than a photography conversation. It’s a story about turning pain into purpose and finding freedom through art.
