La storia di Johnny incrocia anche quella della morte di Pier Paolo Pasolini. Sul luogo dell’omicidio del poeta, ucciso il 2 novembre del 1975 all'Idroscalo di Ostia, furono trovati alcuni oggetti riconducibili a Mastini. Ma a gettare i sospetti più concreti su Johnny fu un carabiniere, Renzo Sansone, che infiltrandosi nella malavita romana ottenne rivelazioni importantissime. Siamo andati a trovare Sansone nella sua casa nei dintorni di Roma, e ci siamo fatti raccontare tutto.
