Episode 207 - Why Eddie Howe Had to Leave Newcastle + Have Chelsea Changed Their Philosophy?

30 Jul 2026 · 53 min

Eddie Howe is out at Newcastle after five years, and Matthias Jaissle is the strong favourite to replace him. We break down what went wrong in his second season in charge, whether selling Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes actually suits the rebuild, and what Jaissle's tactical evolution at Al Ahli tells us about his fit in the Premier League.

Then onto transfers: Real Madrid closing in on Diamond and what it means for Vinicius, Liverpool's interest in Ezri Konsa amid a shaky back line, and Chelsea bringing in Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson to steady the dressing room. Enjoy!
