Imperialism is a primary contradiction, so let’s talk about it because no one is addressing the veteran angle in a critical way . Platner's defenders have been using his self-celebrated service record and the combat PTSD excuse in order to explain away bad behavior, alcohol abuse, and a failure to come to terms with the true cost of the Global War on Terror. I think if some of us were more politically disciplined a bunch of people would not have been side-swiped by this recent credible allegations. It’s just me today for this episode, everyone else is on summer break so I’m stuck having to talk about Platner, about what military service truly means in all its violence and why I currently do not trust a single veteran in office or a single one who is running, and why placing your faith in singular movement leaders to usher in the revolution and turn the electoral college and this whole franchise around is never going to cut it. We might talk about Cesar Chavez, since it’s somewhat apropos.
