Episode #126 Liz Watson - Netball Superstar & Australian Diamonds Captain
This week Brian and Harrison intro the show by covering all the major topics in their lives and within the AFL, including: the passing of Neale Daniher, the Brad Scott / James Hird Essendon saga, the Enhanced Games the cave rescue in Loas, and plenty more.
Their guest this week is Australian Diamonds captain, and international netball superstar, Liz Watson.
One of the biggest names in world netball, Liz takes the boys inside the world of elite sport, covering everything from captaining the Diamonds and performing on the biggest stages, to the preparation, pressure, and standards required to stay at the top.
The conversation explores the growth of women’s sport in Australia, the increasing professionalism of netball, and what the future holds for the next generation of athletes. Liz also shares her journey to the elite level, the sacrifices along the way, and what continues to drive her after achieving so much in the game.
What quickly becomes clear is why Liz is such a respected leader. Calm, kind, and incredibly grounded, she brings a warmth to the conversation that makes for a fascinating insight into how she leads both on and off the court.
As always, BT finds a way to compare everything back to footy, leading to plenty of laughs and some great banter along the way. A conversation with one of Australian sport's most admired athletes, and someone who represents her sport with absolute class.
