There's talk of an import ban on so-called "smart glasses", amid an influx of low cost devices that are being used to film Australians without their consent.
The Greens plan to bring a bill to parliament when it next sits to stop the import of wearable recording devices for at least 12 months, until tougher privacy protections are in place.
Other crossbenchers have voiced their support.
