More about the show
Typically a region of the US that is overlooked in textbooks, the Southwestern United States history starts over 23,000 years ago in what is now know as White Sands National Park with some footprints in the sand. Learn how the area was settled, from the first people who called this region home, through the brutal eras of colonization by Spain, and later the United States. This series highlights the moments that changed the history of this region and this nation forever.
This series comes with free Learning Guides that aligns with US national content standards for elementary through high school students. Find it the Learning Guides for each episode at https://childrenshour.org/history
