Jen started drinking alcohol at just 12 years old and began experiencing blackouts almost immediately. Growing up with an alcoholic mother, childhood trauma, and years of instability, she turned to alcohol as a way to escape feelings she didn’t know how to process.
What began in childhood developed into decades of alcohol addiction, blackout drinking, broken relationships, and eight alcohol- and drug-related arrests. Despite building a successful career, raising children, and appearing to have her life together, Jen was struggling behind the scenes.
By her 40s, her addiction had escalated to a $1,000-a-week drug habit, and even eight arrests weren’t enough to convince her to stop drinking.
In this episode of the Sober Motivation Podcast, Jen shares the moment everything began to change, what finally led her to seek addiction treatment, and how she started rebuilding her life through sobriety.
