The NHL Salary Cap Is Going THROUGH THE ROOF 🔥 w/TSN's Darren Dreger | BB Clips

25 Sep 2026 · 12 min · Bonus · Explicit

Boomer and Rhett are joined by TSN’s Darren Dreger to dive into the NHL’s exploding salary cap and what it could mean for the league moving forward. With an early estimate putting the cap at a staggering $127.5 million for 2028-29, the guys discuss how quickly the financial landscape of the NHL is changing after a $104 million ceiling this season and a projected $113.5 million next year. Dreger breaks down what these massive jumps could mean for player contracts, team building and smaller Canadian markets trying to keep pace as salaries continue to climb. With young stars already pushing contracts into a completely different stratosphere, are we entering an entirely new financial era in the NHL?
