First, the plaintiff loaned her good friend, the defendant, money because she was unemployed. However, it's been years, and the defendant hasn't yet paid it back, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant argues the money was a gift.
Then, the plaintiff owns an auction house, and the defendant placed a bid on a rug. However, the defendant failed to sign the check and backed out of the deal, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant says the rug in question wasn't the one he bought.
Plus, the plaintiff used to be friends with the defendant. However, the plaintiff sold the defendant a car, but he hasn't yet paid for it in full, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff was supposed to have the vehicle fixed before he purchased it and failed to do so.
