Episode How Healing Became an Idol: Why We're More Obsessed with Healing than Becoming Holy

0:00 58:35

What happens when healing becomes the destination instead of part of our discipleship?

After my reel about becoming so obsessed with healing that we forget to become holy reached millions of people, I knew we needed a deeper conversation.

In this episode, Me and Chris Cook sit down to talk about the difference between healing that makes us more self-focused and healing that actually makes us more like Jesus.

We’re talking about self-awareness, surrender, boundaries, triggers, identity, personal responsibility and the uncomfortable truth that sometimes we can learn all the therapeutic language…and still resist transformation.

Healing matters. Therapy matters. Processing your story matters.

But the goal was never simply to become more aware of yourself.

The goal is freedom. Wholeness. Surrender. Love. And becoming more like Christ.

This conversation is for anyone who has done the work, learned the language and protected their peace—but is wondering whether God may be inviting them into something deeper.

Watch until the end, then tell us in the comments:

Has your healing journey made you more like Jesus—or just more focused on yourself?
