Episode 207. Rare Earths 2027: One of the First New Sources OUTSIDE China?

0:00 59:15

The West needs new sources of cobalt, copper and rare earths — and Chilean Cobalt is trying to build a critical minerals supply chain connecting Chile directly to the United States.

The company has a Letter of Interest from US EXIM Bank for up to $375M, a life-of-mine cobalt and copper offtake agreement with Glencore, and is now moving toward acquiring 100% of NeoRe — a Chilean rare earth project targeting initial production in 2027.

In this interview, I speak with Duncan Blount, Chairman and CEO of Chilean Cobalt Corp., and Arturo Albornoz, CEO of NeoRe, about a company that could look very different over the next 6–12 months.
