This Podcast is part of season 23 of a project to complete an in-depth study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, verse by verse.

Episode Notes:

God forgives sin. But consequences… that’s another matter entirely. We all know this in everyday life. A person can get drunk, crash their car, and later repent. God can forgive the sin of drunkenness completely, but the smashed car still needs repairing. The insurance still needs to be paid at the higher rate, if you can get insurance at all.... The consequences remain.

In that case, the consequences are reversible. The car can be fixed, and the damage can be undone. But other situations have irreversible consequences. Forgiveness can be found, but the fallout cannot be undone. For ourselves and for others.

2 Chronicles 33 offers a powerful illustration of that truth. It’s the story of a king who sinned deeply, repented sincerely, and was forgiven fully, yet still lived with consequences that could not be reversed.

So, I’d like you to join me in this chapter as we look at the life of Manasseh, a king whose story reminds us that God’s grace is real… but so are the consequences of sin….
