The first shoe has dropped on the Canucks season as the team puts Aatu Räty on waivers in the wake of another loss on the road! Matt and Blake recap the game, listen in on the coach, and talk about the performances and the improvements as the Canucks did make us watch the whole game at least. The guys get into roster changes with Räty either headed to Abby or another NHL team, and what the trickle down would be if they lost him. Plus, the guys also debate whether Leevi Merilainen is showing signs that he could be a long term investment. TSN's Frank Corrado stops by with his professional view of the play in net from the new Canucks goalie, the development path for Zeev Buium and other young defencemen in the Makar-Hughes era, and Frank reacts to the horrific starts for both the Flyers and Red Wings. Matt and Blake finish up with a preview of the Whitecaps and St Louis City in a match up of the top 2 teams in the west. They also get into the scenarios ahead for the BC Lions that could affect how they deploy/rest players this weekend, and the Mariners are on the hunt for a new and experienced manager to replace Dan Wilson
