俺は21歳のころ
盆に母方の実家に久しぶりに訪れた
田舎の母方の実家の手料理は、懐かしさだけでなく、本当に美味い
代々この家に受け継がれているのだろう
俺は肉じゃがと、魚の煮付けをおかずに、酒を飲んだ
夕食を終えた俺は、珍しくオフクロと２人で
縁側に置いてある対面ソファーに腰をかけた
親父や弟らは、居間の方でプロ野球を観ているようだ
夏の夜の縁側からは、目の前を流れる川の音と虫の声が聞こえていた
今日は、午後4時くらいに、一度夕立ちがきた
連日続いた猛暑は、この夕立によって、熱を持った路面を濡らしたが、
もう所々乾いていた
