Dentro una batteria agli ioni di litio resta immagazzinata molta energia e, se una cella si danneggia, può innescare una fuga termica: una reazione a catena fatta di calore, gas e talvolta ossigeno liberato dal catodo. Tra cortocircuiti interni, fiamme che possono riaccendersi e le procedure dell’equipaggio per raffreddare e contenere il dispositivo, ecco perché il powerbank non va in stiva e non va trattato come una semplice scatoletta USB.
