Episode Episode 10 - The Boy and the Drum with Carl Merry
Welcome to Season 3 of Dragonfly Tales, a story podcast for children (and grown ups) of all ages.
Next here in the UK is National Storytelling Week! If you want to join in the story fun, you can visit the Society for Storytelling Website – they have lots of fun story activities for you.
You can also support their brilliant work by donating to their crowd funder and keep the art of oral storytelling going strong. Hurray!
Our guest teller this week is the wonderful Carl Merry - who joined us for Season 2.
Carl was once a teacher and ran storytelling clubs and story days in schools to engage children with storytelling.
He’s been a professional storyteller for over 20yrs, and has performed at loads of festivals, theatres, community groups and schools across the country. He’s performed in medieval costume too at re-enactment days. He loves the history and folklore of Essex and has devised lots of stories about ancient burial grounds, witch trials.
You can find out more about Carl at his website HERE.
Our story comes all the way from India! It’s a type of story very popular in India, where the parts of the story are connected to each other, like the links in a chain - a chain story!

Shows are listed from Apple Podcasts' charts and directory, and Podcast Index where it is used. Every show and episode belongs to its publisher and plays from the publisher's own feed; this site hosts none of them. Explicit shows are for adult profiles only, and children’s profiles hear only children’s shows. More about this list.
