Episode The Top Second Base Targets For The Mets | Straight Outta Flushing
Who should be the New York Mets' starting second baseman in 2027? After a disappointing 2026 season from Marcus Semien, the Mets have some major decisions to make at second base this offseason.
On this episode of Straight Outta Flushing, Dexter Henry and Tyler Ward continue their Mets position-by-position offseason breakdown by examining what went wrong at second base and how David Stearns can address the position heading into 2027.
Should the Mets give Semien another chance despite his remaining contract? Could top prospect Jefferson Rojas or Brett Baty be the answer? Or should New York look outside the organization and target free agents like Jazz Chisholm Jr., Gleyber Torres, or Luis Arraez?
Dexter and Tyler debate the Mets' best options, explore potential trades and free-agent targets, and reveal their grades for the team's 2026 second-base production.
