Episode A Lovely Afternoon at Lakemont | Campfire Tales
In the heart of Vicksburg, Mississippi, stands Lakemont, a beautiful nineteenth-century home whose elegant Greek Revival architecture conceals a haunting tale of love and tragedy. For generations, residents have reported strange occurrences within its walls, from unexplained footsteps and the rustling of silk skirts to the lingering fragrance of a woman's perfume drifting through otherwise empty rooms. According to local legend, these mysterious encounters are connected to Anne Lake, the wife of a prominent Mississippi attorney whose life was forever changed by a fateful afternoon in October 1861. But what happened that day, and why do some believe that Anne's spirit continues to wander the halls and gardens of the home she once loved?
