‘‘ठगनियां क्या नैना झमकावै।’’- संत कबीर ने माया को ठगने वाली कहकर सम्बोधित किया है। यह कब सफल होती है- इसका ज्ञान साधक को तब होता है जब वह पतित हो जाता है। किन्तु साधन के उन्नत होने पर एक स्तर ऐसा आता है कि साधक माया की चाल पहले ही समझकर सतर्क हो जाता है। माया की छाया से पृथक् रहने की पदार्थ भावनी अवस्था का चित्रण इस पद में है।
