About

Biophysics: applies the principles of Physics, Chemistry, mathematical analysis and computer modeling to a biological systems to develop the understanding at fundamental level. We start from general principle and work out their consequences and look at the nature of the consequences and analyze. In this course, we shall try learning various key areas of Biophysics, namely, Molecular Biophysics: Understanding the structure & dynamics of DNA and proteins; Cellular Biophysics: Studying the membrane formation and their function; Systems Biophysics: Analyzing complex systems like the nervous system (brain function) and Heart system;Medical Biophysics: Applying physics to diagnose, X-ray, MRI and medical imaging.

Intended audience: UG and PG

Prerequisites: Basic Statistical Physics course
