Health and Disability in Humanities
Prof. Smita Jha · IIT Roorkee
About
The intersection of health and disability within the humanities explores the various social, cultural, and ethical dimensions that impact individuals living with disabilities. This field emphasises the importance of understanding the lived experiences of people with disabilities and how societal attitudes, policies, and health care systems shape their well-being and identities. By integrating perspectives from literature, philosophy, history, and social studies, this area of study aims to foster greater awareness and inclusivity regarding health disparities and the challenges faced by those with disabilities.
Intended audience: UG, PG, Science and Arts both
