CFD Applications in Chemical Processes
Prof. Arnab Atta · IIT Kharagpur
About
This course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to apply Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in solving complex chemical engineering problems. It covers fundamental principles, numerical methods, and practical applications in areas such as reaction engineering, heat and mass transfer, and multiphase flows. Drawing on the instructor's extensive experience, the course combines theoretical concepts with real-world case studies to prepare students for both academic and industrial challenges. It is an ideal blend of foundational learning and advanced simulation techniques tailored for chemical engineers
Intended audience: Both UG and PG students interested in CFD
Prerequisites: This course is designed for beginners in CFD. A basic understanding of calculus and a prior coursework in fluid mechanics is ideal but not mandatory as all necessary concepts will be briefly introduced during the course
