About

These lectures introduce diagnostic techniques for longitudinal bunch profile and bunch length measurement, covering radiative, radio-frequency, and laser-based methods. Radiative techniques analyze beam-induced radiation characteristics. Radio-frequency methods use RF deflecting fields to convert temporal bunch evolution into transverse profiles. Laser-based diagnostics employ either ultra-short laser pulse sampling or electro-optical encoding with birefringent crystals. The lectures detail the principles, performance, and applicability of each technique for short bunch measurement.
