About
Within the framework of the Future Circular Collider (FCC) project next-generation particle colliders at CERN are studied, aiming to extend the exploration of particle physics far beyond the High-Luminosity LHC era. The so-called integrated FCC program consists of two novel circular colliders with 91 km circumference, implemented in two stages to explore both the precision and energy frontiers for lepton and hadron machines. The first stage, the electron–positron collider, FCC-ee, would allow extremely precise measurements from the Z-pole up to above the top-pair-threshold. The second stage, the proton–proton collider FCC-hh aims at achieving a center-of-mass energy up to 85 TeV, operating therefore at new energy frontier. This talk will present the overall integrated FCC program including physics motivations, together with key challenges associated with the realization of FCC-ee and FCC-hh.
