About

The servo is a control algorithm that aligns the phase of the timeReceiver White Rabbit reference clock with the timeTransmitter clock, based on timing information exchanged via PTP messages. This process involves several steps. The White Rabbit reference clock is locked to the timeTransmitter clock. Next it is determined (SYNC_TAI, SYNC_NSEC) which White Rabbit reference clock cycle aligns with the timeTransmitter clock at the start of each second (PPS). It then performs fine phase adjustments (SYNC_PHASE, TRACK_PHASE) to synchronize the White Rabbit reference clock with the timeTransmitter. An investigation was carried out to analyze the servo's behavior, with particular focus on identifying and characterizing its sub-optimal performance profile.
