About

mecha-nix (mnix) is a lightweight open-source remote development tool built around the power of Nix flakes, allowing developers to create fully reproducible and declarative development environments on remote servers. Using Python, SSH, and Podman, mnix lets developers work from thin-and-light laptops while remotely provisioning consistent environments with all dependencies managed through Nix. It provides simple commands for launching shells, rebuilding environments, synchronizing workspaces, and executing commands remotely in containerized development environments.
