About

The LHC offers a large physics potential in both the test of the Standard Model as well as in the search for new physics. In the present lecture various aspects of the Standard Model physics are discussed. This includes the search for the SM Higgs, a study of alternative symmetry breaking mechanisms, gauge boson pair production, W– and top-physics. The performance and the experimental techniques of both the ATLAS and the CMS experiment are presented.
