About

The main focus of the lecture is given to the power conversion process in high intensity accelerators from grid to beam and its efficiency. By maximizing the energy efficiency of technical systems and entire concepts the overall power consumption of research infrastructures can be minimized, thereby improving sustainability and reducing carbon footprint. Other aspects of sustainability discussed in the lecture include: the use of critical materials, the carbon footprint of civil construction and heat recovery.
