About
Decays of beauty baryons to multibody states provide a unique window to search for intermediate resonances, including exotic states such as pentaquarks.
In this seminar, we present the first observation of the $\Xi^0_b \to J/\psi \Xi^-\pi^+$ decay and the most precise measurement of the branching fraction of the $\Lambda^0_b \to J/\psi \Xi^-K^+$ decay, using 5.4~fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data at $\sqrt{s} = 13$~TeV collected by the LHCb experiment. These decay channels offer new insights into the dynamics of baryon-meson systems. In particular, the $\Lambda^0_b \to J/\psi\,\Xi^-K^+$ decay provides an ideal probe to isolate the $I = 0$ contribution in the interaction between kaons and nucleons, which is essential for understanding the structure of the $\Lambda(1405)$ resonance. We also examine the invariant mass spectra to explore possible intermediate resonant states, setting the stage for further detailed amplitude studies.
