About
The HL-LHC project, presently the flagship project at CERN, aims at a major upgrade of the LHC machine to improve its luminosity by the installation of new equipment making use of cutting-edge technology. An important share of in-kind contributes in an essential way to the realization of the full scope of the project, which is bound in time by the need to install during the next Long Shutdown, fixed to start in July 2026, and with a constrained duration of 4 years. The presentation aims at illustrating the coordination, processes, methods and instances active in the PM of this major project, illustrating how seemingly soft PM structures contribute to its success, and which are the pitfalls of this approach.
