About
We exploit the full power of the large amount of the pp collisions recorded between 2016 and 2018 by the CMS experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb-1, to search for new particles leading to non-standard signatures in the detector. In this seminar, we present two searches. The first analysis looks for long-lived particles decaying to delayed jets and missing transverse momentum, where the timing capabilities of the CMS electromagnetic calorimeter are used for the first time to identify these jets in candidate signal events. The second analysis exploits the disappearing track signature expected from new long-lived charged particles that would decay within the volume of the CMS tracking detector. The searches are interpreted in two simplified, supersymmetric models of gluino pair production. In these models, mass limits at 95% confidence level reach up to 2.5 TeV, unaccessible when using traditional approaches. .
