    12: Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)

    • 12.1: Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)
ANOVA, or Analysis of Variance, is used to compare the means of three or more groups to determine if at least one group differs significantly. It helps identify variation between and within groups. ANOVA is widely used in experiments, surveys, and studies involving multiple categories or treatments.
    • 12.2: Chapter 12 Formulas
This section displays the key formulas for Chapter 12. These include the within-group variance, which measures the variability of individual data points around their respective group means and reflects random error. The between-group variance measures the variability of group means around the grand mean and captures the effect of the grouping variable. The test statistic for ANOVA is calculated as the ratio of the between-group variance to the within-group variance.
    • 12.3: Chapter 12 - Key Terms and Symbols
In this section, the key terms and symbols for Chapter 12 are provided for easy access to help perform an ANOVA test.
