    2.2: Un passo avanti

    Describing People, Places, and Things

In this section, we take a step forward in learning how to describe the world around us in Italian. With a few essential tools such as adjectives and the verbs "essere" and "avere", you will give life to your sentences, portray people and places, and share details about your own experiences.

Adjectives help you describe what you see and feel, from a city’s beauty to a friend’s personality. With "essere", "avere", and the expressions "c’è" and "ci sono", you can talk about identity, traits, possessions, and surroundings. Adding possessive adjectives lets you show connections, such as whose book, family, or city you are describing. With these tools, you can move beyond introductions to describe yourself, others, and daily life with clarity and depth.
