    5.2: Un passo avanti

    Expressing Habits and Preferences

In this section, you’ll expand your ability to describe what people are doing, the food they’re eating, and how things compare in more complex Italian!

You’ll start by learning the presente progressivo, used to describe actions happening right now. Then, you’ll explore how to express quantities with partitive articles and phrases like un po’ di or qualche. Finally, you’ll discover how to make your descriptions richer and more precise with comparatives and superlatives, expressing what’s "più buono, meno sano, or buonissimo"!

By combining these structures, you’ll be able to talk about food, habits, and preferences in a more natural and authentic way, just like Italians do at the table or in daily conversation.
