Family in Italy: Tradition, Change, and New Models
As families change and evolve with time, so does the way people talk about them.
In this section, you will begin with a contemporary story, Luca e Alba – Che bella famiglia!, where you will discover how Italians talk about relationships, inclusion, and new forms of connection today. Through the language used in the story, you will start noticing how family roles and expectations are expressed in everyday life.
Next, you will broaden your perspective and explore how the Italian family has evolved over time, comparing ieri e oggi (yesterday and today). Through readings and cultural observations, you will reflect on how values, roles, and lifestyles are shifting in Italy.
Finally, you will compare these perspectives with your own experiences and consider how culture and communication stay al passo coi tempi, at the pace of current times.
