Developing Conversation Skills: Asking, Knowing, and Planning

In this section, you’ll move beyond describing and start developing tools to be able to have strong interpersonal conversations through asking questions, giving details, and sharing plans just like in everyday life.

You’ll learn how to talk about quantities and measurements, use indefinite words such as qualcuno, qualcosa, and tutto, and express how much or how many with confidence when cooking, shopping, or ordering food.

A supermarket aisle filled with various brands and types of pasta on shelves, including Barilla products.
A grocery store shelf displaying various brands of cookies and snacks, organized in boxes with colorful packaging.
A deli section labeled "Gastronomía" displays various meats and cheeses, with customers browsing and staff serving.
A bakery section in a grocery store, with shelves of baked goods, a sign reading "PANE • DOLCI," and customers browsing.

Next, you’ll practice expressing future intentions including what you’re about to do, planning to do, or expecting to happen using conversational Italian.
Finally, you’ll explore the difference between conoscere and sapere, two verbs that let you express what and who you know, and what you know how to do.

By the end of this section, you’ll be ready to use Italian more flexibly and naturally to express your thoughts on preffered recipes, weekend plans, or your favorite restaurant.
