    4.8: Conclusion
    Critical Thinking

If you were researching important skills and training for your career, how could you apply the skills from this chapter? Consider the following questions:

    1. What authors would provide the most relevant information?
    2. What sources would be most useful in compiling a training list?
    3. How old of a source would still be relevant for your needs?
    4. Could you prioritize the skills/training by identifying which were mentioned by the most sources?

While this can seem like a lot of steps for conducting research, having an effective research process can help to prevent issues down the road. It's fairly common for researchers to realize that they have lost citation information and later need to look up one of their sources again. While this chapter provides a number of tips on how to find and organize those resources, you will likely find that you develop a preferred method that works best for you. As you gain experience with research, it's ideal for you to begin identifying the best practices that work for you!
