    5.6: Poetry Exercises

    Let's practice writing our own poems now.

    Here are some suggestions for inspiration

    Exercise \(\PageIndex{1}\)

    1. Write about your day

    2. Personify your car

    3. Immortalize your pet

    4. Love letter

    5. Note to your baby

    Example \(\PageIndex{1}\)

    Dance of the 405

    Famous for Fury.

    Famous for fast pace.

    Highway flyers dance

    between the lanes

    in a precise choreography of

    speed and grace,

    trying to get from place to place.

    Drivers in such haste;

    with no time to waste;

    chase each other's tails

    a string of red

    lights up the place.

    Hoping to be safe,

    executing the dance

    of time and space.
