    Expressing time in the past

    ieri yesterday Ieri ho fatto una passeggiata.
    l’altro ieri the day before yesterday Lui è partitol‘altro ieri.
    fa ago Due anni fa ho visitato la Germania.
    poi then Abbiamo preso un gelato, poi siamo partiti.
    scorso * last (as in “last week”) Il mese scorso abbiamo cambiato casa.
    * Scorso can go either before or after the noun to which it refers, as in:
    • la settimana scorsa / la scorsa settimana
    • sabato scorso / lo scorso sabato
    • l’autunno scorso / lo scorso autunno
