The Five Words

In addition to writing and reading in most college composition courses, the five words that may be at the core of the class (or college and life in general, really) are autonomy, empathy and sympathy, and creativity and problem-solving. Please write 100 words for each word, giving your definition(s) of the word and experience(s) you've had with it.

Four Fiction Prompts

A. One day, you notice there's a new key on your keychain.

B. And then they said, "You did what?" "It wasn't as bad as last time, I swear."

C. There's an urban legend that's been circulating for years, about a taxi cab that doesn't take you where you want to go, but where you need to go. One night, you step into this cab.

D. The (Odd) Bodyguard: Write a short story from the point-of-view of a character who works as a personal bodyguard. The catch? This character looks nothing like a fighter. Double catch? This character possesses an ability that makes their job very easy.

Famous Parents

If you could have any two famous people as your parents, who would you choose and why? Respond in 500+ words (break down each person into 250+ if you want). Feel free to go the nontraditional route and have two women as parents, etc.
