È ora di cominciare

In Unità 1 we introduce the most basic elements of the Italian language through phrases, situations, and topics that a visitor to Italy would immediately encounter.  Students will learn the nuts and bolts of Italian phonetics and the grammatical structures and vocabulary they need in order to introduce themselves, order drinks and food at a bar or trattoria, and express likes and dislikes, among other things.  The in-class activity packet and the interactive exercises contain plenty of opportunities for students to explore contemporary Italian culture and put the language to use.
