    10.7: Monitoring and Resource Utilization

To effectively manage cloud infrastructure, one must have continuous visibility into system performance and resource utilization. Monitoring involves collecting metrics, logs, and traces from your resources and applications, and using that data to detect issues, optimize performance, and trigger automated responses. Cloud providers offer cloud-native monitoring tools (like Amazon CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Operations suite – formerly Stackdriver) that are deeply integrated with their services. Additionally, properly defined alerts and auto-scaling triggers leverage monitoring data to maintain the health and efficiency of systems without manual intervention. This section covers how monitoring works in the cloud and how it ties into resource management through alerting and scaling.
