To critically think through, synthesize, analyze, and prepare for our water discussion, please write a Response Essay using the format outlined below. This will not only provide a low-stakes assignment to process concepts but also prepare you for class discussions, upcoming assignments, and exams. Consider this assignment more formal than notes, and a way to discuss and connect ideas with yourself and your classmates.

A Response Essay is a three-paragraph essay meant to:
- Hone your critical reading/viewing skills.
- Demonstrate your understanding of and engagement with the topic.
- Help with writing the formal essays.
Response essays can be used to collect your thoughts and build arguments, evidence, quotations, and questions, but should be written in whole paragraphs (usually five to ten sentences, but no fewer than four).
Answer one of the following questions (unless you feel compelled to write for more than one, which is fantastic):
- What was most interesting about the video viewing for this topic? Why?
- What connections do you see between today’s video and other topics from this course (or other courses) or conversations we have had earlier in the semester?
- What was most challenging for you in today’s viewing? You may refer to things that are intellectually or emotionally difficult.
Cite a quotation or scene from the video and explain why you find it significant. Is this quotation/scene representative of a point you are making? Is this quotation/scene an example of something in agreement or disagreement with another topic? Is it a passage/moment that moved you, resonated with your own experience, or surprised you?
Create a discussion question for the class, then answer it in paragraph form.
How useful do you think the solutions outlined in the video are in the long run, and how can larger policy changes improve those?
