The image shows a man from the waist up. He is slightly turned to the side, with a serene expression. He has short, swept-back gray hair, sideburns, and visible lines on his face. The man is wearing a dark suit, white high-collared shirt, and a white cravat. A chain, possibly a watch fob, is visible on his suit. There is a red detail, possibly a ribbon or handkerchief, in his breast pocket. The background is plain dark brown.
